Parents and Dancers
Information you need, and where to find it
Online Payment
All tuition and other payments will now be handled through Dance Studio Pro. Easy for everyone! You can do many other things though your portal, like order dancewear, recital tickets, and recital goodies, access files for studio and class information, see the studio's calendar, and register for classes.
We have a closed Facebook group for parents, teachers, and dancers to interact. It can be found at www.facebook.com/groups/ebsdancers. Please do not add friends who are not current dance parents; if they are looking for information about our studio, refer them to the business page or directly to Kara. Please do invite/add additional parents, and your dancers who have Facebook accounts! Everyone must answer the questions so we can keep the group focused on its intended purpose.
Email Communications
We do a huge amount of communicating via email. Please make sure you gave us a valid email address when you enrolled your dancer. If your child has an email address, it can be added to their profile in the DSP system so that they can stay informed and take some responsibility for their own activities. We especially encourage this in our teen and tween students.
When You Have Questions....
First, check the website and/or social media. We try to have answers readily available, especially to questions that begin with “What time is....?” “What do we need for...?” “When and where is...?” and “Are we closed for...?” If you have done so and cannot find the answer, ask Kara. Please don’t go to individual teachers with studio questions. It’s not their job to have all of that information organized and available to you, and sometimes they don’t have all the information for things that don’t pertain to their classes specifically. If the answer to your question is available to you elsewhere, you might not get a response to your inquiry, or the response will be where you can find the answer. It may take thirty seconds to ask and answer, but imagine repeating that process 80 times throughout the day. Nothing else would get done!
Studio Gear
Visit our Bonfire store for shirts, tanks, and sweatshirts with the studio logo. Other gift items like tumblers and plushies can be found in the Online Store in the Parent Portal.
Class Attire
Your initial uniform is issued to you upon enrollment in regular season classes. You can place orders for any class attire in the Online Store section of your parent portal. We have leotards, tights, boys' attire, and shoes, as well as extras like skirts or pants. If we don't have your size or color on hand, we will get it. Log in and select "Online Store" in the menu or quick links.

About Recital Fees and Ads
Each family with a single dancer will be assessed a one-time fee of $150, which covers all stage attire including new tights, four tickets, a recital t-shirt, and a digital copy of the performance video. You will be able to purchase additional tickets as needed through the Ticket-Pro portal. There will be a code for you to enter that will discount your total. That code has been set to be valid for a certain number of uses, which comes out to once per participating family, so please do not share it or use it more than once.
You have the opportunity to reduce or eliminate this fee by selling ads to local businesses for our program. Three ads of any size will reduce your fee by 50% and six ads will waive the fee altogether. Some of your Nutcracker ads were purchased for both programs and those count toward your total. The flyer with prices and details can be found in the Files section of your Studio Pro account.

Plain hair elastics (neutral colors best)
Bobby pins
Hairnet (close match to hair color)
Hairspray
DO NOT USE THOSE SPONGE FORM THINGIES. THEY WILL MAKE YOUR BUN FALL DOWN.
Blush - dark pink
Eyeshadow - dark brown, light brown, white (dancers with darker skin tones may want to opt for purples and lighter colors)
Eyeliner - black
White pencil for highlighting eyes
Lipstick - red
Mascara - black (optional for under-8, child's tolerance)
Eyebrow pencil (if very fair)
Foundation - skin tone (teens only)
Older dancers may also want to use contour or false eyelashes.
A word about makeup: Using cheaper brands is fine, but get darker colors than it looks like you need. Cheaper eyeshadows and blushes are less pigmented and will not look as saturated on the skin as they do in the palette. I recommend a long-wear formula lipstick, or it will transfer to every available surface (especially fabric). I also recommend felt-tip eyeliners over pencils.
Stage makeup is meant to counteract the effects of the extremely bright lights onstage and ensure performers' facial features can be seen. It will not look "pretty" up close.
